Though Canada’s mainstream media have worked hard to ignore it, the National Citizens Inquiry has held hearings in eight Canadian cities to conduct an evaluation of Canada’s response to the COVID pandemic.
Hearings were held in Truro, Toronto, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Red Deer, Vancouver, Ottawa and Quebec.
Among the witnesses were Dr. Peter McCullough, Jay Bhattacharya, Dr. Robert Malone, Edward Dowd, Steve Kirsch, Dr. Jordan Peterson, and Cathy Jones.
A notable exception to the unwillingness of Canada’s mainstream media to give coverage to the inquiry was Canadian Edition of The Epoch Times.
Among the stories covered by the Epoch Times were the following:
Fired Alberta Physician Tells National Citizen’s Inquiry Ivermectin Saved Patients From COVID-19
“On the final day of the National Citizen’s Inquiry in Ottawa on May 19, an Alberta physician testified that three of his COVID-19 patients recovered shortly after he gave them ivermectin, a decision which led to his dismissal from his job and being essentially barred from practicing medicine in the province. ‘Less than 18 hours after receiving ivermectin, these patients made a remarkable clinical turnaround. Now again, this is based on data that had been published throughout 2020 and 2021,’ said Dr. Daniel Nagase.”
“ ‘I know that as a public broadcaster, you’d expect us to be telling you the truth, and we stopped doing that,’ said former CBC Manitoba reporter Marianne Klowak. ‘And it was a number of stories that I have put forward that were blocked, but it seemed to me as a journalist who’d been there 34 years, it’s like the rules had changed overnight. And it changed so quickly that it left me just dizzy.’ Klowak, who left the CBC in December 2021, told the NCI she was blocked from writing several pandemic-related stories that she pitched to her editors, such as those highlighting protests against vaccine mandates, concerns with adverse reactions from COVID-19 vaccines, and problems doctors were facing with reporting vaccine injuries using the Adverse Events Following Immunization Surveillance System.”
Adverse Events Risk in COVID Vaccine Trials Was One in 565, Doctor Tells National Citizen’s Inquiry
“The Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines were associated with an excess risk of serious adverse events of special interest in about one in every 565 people, a U.S.doctor testified at the National Citizen’s Inquiry (NCI). ‘That is quite a high number of serious adverse effects from a vaccine. We typically have withdrawn vaccines for one in 10,000,’ said Dr. Joseph Fraiman, an emergency physician based in Louisiana who was the lead author of a peer-reviewed study that re-examined the original Pfizer and Moderna clinical trials for the COVID-19 vaccines.”
Kudos to the Epoch Times.
You can watch the various submissions to the Inquiry here. The findings of the Inquiry are to be published in a final report, which hopefully will get more coverage than the hearings did.
PS: For those who live near Victoria, BC, there will be a three-day conference entitled Reclaiming Canada from May 26th to May 28th, featuring Brian Peckford, John Rustad, Drea Humphrey, Chris Barber, Rodney Palmer, Dr. Stephen Malthouse, and Dr. Steven Pelech.
PPS: Canada finally managed to input its excess mortality data for the final weeks of 2022 - with the result that Canada’s excess deaths were even higher than I reported a few weeks ago. I’ve re-written and updated my post, which I’m trying to shop around to several Canadian newspapers. I’m not holding my breath expecting a positive response. Here’s some data and a couple of quotes from the updated version.
We were told that it was necessary and responsible for Canadians to obey all those draconian lock-down rules, or countless thousands would die. What actually happened?
When we compare lockdown-free Sweden with Canada’s COVID panic, the differences in outcomes is quite stark. Canada suffered a rate of excess deaths between 2020 and 2022 more than four times that of Sweden. (14.3% vs 3.3%) It was Canada, not Sweden, which saw an unprecedented rise in excess deaths over the three years of the pandemic.
Over the three years of the pandemic, Canada saw 3,104 excess deaths/per million people, whereas Sweden saw only 824 excess deaths/million people.
Stated differently, if Canada had had the same rate of excess deaths as lockdown-free Sweden had over the past three years, 86,000 fewer Canadians would have died. That was the cost we paid for panic.
In turning Canadians’ lives upside-down with lockdowns, Canada achieved a Pyrrhic victory: We may have won the battle, but we lost the war.
The more Canadians understand that, the less willing we will be to succumb to panic a second time.
AND:
One of the arguments given to justify society-wide lock-downs, was that we could better protect the old and vulnerable. The lockdowns would supposedly keep Granny from dying. Yet, when we look at the table above, we see the percent of excess deaths was lower in Sweden than Canada for seniors in all three pandemic years.
Overall, the rate of excess deaths among seniors in Sweden was less than one-third of what it was in Canada. (4.5% vs 14.9%) If the goal of the lockdowns was to prevent seniors from dying, they failed spectacularly.
